Privacy Policy

mp4mp3.download is designed from the ground up with privacy as a first principle. We do not require user registration, we do not maintain user accounts, and we do not sell or share your personal data with any third party.

We do not keep logs of the URLs you submit. When you paste a video link and request a download, it is processed in real time and the request is discarded immediately after the file is delivered to your browser. No record of your download activity is retained on our servers.

To be absolutely clear, we do NOT collect or store:

• Your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information.
• The video URLs you submit to the download form.
• The video files you download.
• Your browsing history, search queries, or activity on other websites.
• Device fingerprints or persistent tracking identifiers.
• Payment information (the Service is free).

To provide the download functionality, our server temporarily handles your submitted URL in memory during the processing pipeline. This data:

• Is processed exclusively in RAM — never written to permanent storage.
• Is discarded immediately after the download stream is delivered to your browser.
• Is never accessible to any third party or used for analytics.

Like all web servers, our infrastructure generates standard access logs containing IP addresses, timestamps, and request paths (e.g., POST /api/download). These logs are used solely for security monitoring, abuse prevention, and server stability. They are retained for a maximum of 7 days and then permanently deleted. We do not use server logs to build user profiles or for marketing purposes.

We use a minimal amount of browser storage to improve your experience:

• Theme preference — We store your dark/light mode preference in localStorage so it persists across visits. This data never leaves your browser.
• Download count — To implement our free/ad-supported model, we store a simple download counter in localStorage. This is a number only — no URL history is stored.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics scripts (such as Google Analytics) that would transmit your behavior to external companies.

Our Service uses yt-dlp, an open-source tool, to process video downloads. This processing occurs entirely on our own server — no video URL is sent to any third-party API or commercial service. The content is fetched directly from the source platform (YouTube, TikTok, etc.) by our server on your behalf.

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@mp4mp3.download and we will take steps to delete any such information.

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or for legal/regulatory reasons. We will post the updated date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes indicates your acceptance of the revised policy. If you have concerns about any changes, please contact us.
